The use of rustic materials such as character grade oak and handmade bricks gives a traditional feel to the fireplace.

Herringbone brickwork together with a York Stone hearth was used to add character.

On this occasion we’ve gone with the more traditional look of a black stove as this was better suited to the farmhouse style house.

The stone wall featured in this photo was actually the outside wall of the house before the extension was built. The client had an open fire on the other side of the wall they no longer used so we sealed it up and used it's flue for the wood burner. This stove is sat on a slate hearth.
